Percussion Mini-Concert 2024

On 15 December, percussion classes from HKCC's instrumental programme, comprising approximately 60 members, held their annual mini-concert at West Kowloon Centre Recital Hall. The concert gave parents the chance to see the culmination of their children's efforts over the year, while also allowing the members to enjoy and learn from performances by other classes, fostering mutual growth and improvement.
Under the guidance of tutors Minnie Chau, Wu On-wai, Abby Chan and Cherry Cheng, 10 classes from grades P2 to P5 presented eight diverse programmes. In addition to glockenspiel, metallophone and xylophone, the performances featured some more unique-sounding instruments such as the marimba and celesta. Various unpitched percussion instruments, including African drums, wind chimes and shakers, were also incorporated to add vibrant hues to different musical themes. Members performed harmoniously in pieces ranging from the warm and sunny Summer Sunshine to the energetic Mambo Arfricano and the classical gem Minuet in G, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
