Leading the singing of the national anthem at the May Fourth flag-raising ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, The Hong Kong Children's Choir was honored to be invited by the Hong Kong Youth Activities Committee to participate in the May Fourth flag-raising ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai on 4 May.
The event brought together 1,200 young participants from uniformed groups, primary and secondary schools. At 8 a.m., members from Intermediate 1K and 3D led the attendees in singing the national anthem. The national flag and regional flag were gradually raised at the same time. Among the guests were Mr Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administrationi and Mr LIU Guangyuan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Under the leadership of the flag bearers and honor guards, the ceremony also included a special tribute, where all attendees respectfully saluted and honored three veteran soldiers from Hong Kong who had participated in the War of Resistance, expressing deep gratitude and utmost respect for their contributions.
