HKU MUSE | Messiah Sing-Along 2023

Presented by HKU Cultural Management Office and organised by HKU MUSE, the 2023 edition of HKU's winter music tradition Messiah Sing-Along was successfully held on 17 December at Grand Hall of The University of Hong Kong Lee Shau Kee Lecture Hall.
The exciting and joyful choral music night brought onto the stage an outstanding lineup of Hong Kong's homegrown choristers, Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) Chamber Youth and HKU Chamber Singers, soloists including Soprano Kenix Tsang, Countertenor Keith Pun, Tenor Justin Li, Baritone Caleb Woo and guest singers, under the baton of Vivian Ip.
The concert featured excerpts from one of the best-known choral works, the three-part English oratorio Messiah, HWV 56 composed by George Frideric Handel. HKCC Chamber Youth and HKU Chamber Singers performed all the Sing-Along and Chorus parts. Regardless of their ages and musical background, all audience members sung along with the choirs, soloists and orchestra, adding to the joyful, empowering and uplifting spirit that pervaded the auditorium.
