Gala Concert 2026 "Sing & Shine, Dream & Fly"
Date: 12/09/2026

The Hong Kong Children’s Choir (HKCC) presented its annual grand event, Gala Concert 2026 “Sing & Shine, Dream & Fly”, at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 12 and 13 September. More than 3,000 choristers took the stage across four performances, leading audiences on a voyage of dreams through the pure voices of children.
The programme spanned a wide spectrum of choral repertoire, from classical masterpieces to contemporary works, enriched by creative staging elements such as props, costumes, drama, and choreography. Notably, Intermediate 3A gave the world premiere of Rhythmic Terrains, distinguished by its driving rhythms and layered textures, which showcased innovation and a breakthrough in choral artistry. Preparatory A and B also premiered Why Learn Singing, composed by HKCC’s Arts Programme Supervisor in Residence, Corina Lin. Through playful dialogue embedded in the lyrics, the piece conveyed the innocence and aspirations of children embarking on their musical journey.
This year also marked the debut of the classes from HKCC’s new Wong Chuk Hang Centre. Having officially joined the HKCC family only in July, the young singers courageously took to the stage after merely two months of training. Their earnest spirit and successful performance earned enthusiastic applause, perfectly embodying the concert’s theme: with passion and hard work, dreams can indeed shine brightly on stage.
All four performances were met with an overwhelming response from the audiences. HKCC extends heartfelt gratitude to the audiences, parents, conductors, and staff whose support and dedication made this artistic celebration possible. Looking ahead, HKCC remains committed to its mission of promoting choral art, nurturing future generations through music, and fostering community connections that energise Hong Kong’s cultural life.
