2026 World Choir Festival – Hong Kong

Date: 12/07/2026

  • Organized by the World Youth and Children Choral Artists' Association, the "2026 World Choir Festival – Hong Kong" was held from 12 to 15 July. The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited to participate in this grand event, delivering dedicated performances across three featured concerts.

On the afternoon of 12 July, HKCC Concert Choir, led by Music Director and Principal Conductor Kathy Fok and accompanist Corina Lin, performed in a joint concert at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall alongside the Toronto Children's Chorus from Canada, which made its debut appearance in Hong Kong, and the local representative, the Good Hope School Choir. Together, they presented a selection of choral pieces showcasing the unique cultures of both regions. To conclude the performance, the three choirs united for a grand finale of In One Accord, composed by Dr Steve Ho, demonstrating musical inclusivity through delicate, harmonious vocals. That same evening, HKCC members moved to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall for the festival's Opening Ceremony & Concert. Sharing the stage with various ensembles, including The Mad Singers, the New Zealand Secondary Students' Choir, and the Dolphin Hearing Disabled Children's Choir, they officially marked the opening of the festival.

On the final day of the festival, HKCC participated in the Final Round & Closing Ceremony as a guest performer at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall. Kathy Fok, the Music Director and Principal Conductor of HKCC, was honoured with the Artistic Achievement Award from the World Youth and Children Choral Artists' Association. The award recognizes her outstanding contributions over the years to advancing the choral arts and promoting local choral music.
