Presented by Hong Kong Baptist University Department of Music, Hong Kong Baptist University Choir; Hong Kong Baptist University Women’s Chorus and Cantoria Hong Kong performed jointly at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 8 April at 8pm. With Cantonese as the main theme of this year, the concert presented all-Cantonese works, including new commissions set to texts by classical and modern poets.
The Hong Kong Children’s Choir was invited as a special guest at the concert. The choir world premiered, If Possible, one of the winning pieces of HKCC 50th Anniversary Children’s Choral Composition Selections (Senior Level) composed by Tam Lok-hei Alvin and lyrics by Chan Hung-yu. Members of Concert Choir also showcased the liveliness and fun of Cantonese choral works by performing Magical Beanland from HKCC 40th Anniversary Musical as well as Kung Fu composed by Dr Steve Ho for HKCC 50th Anniversary Musical King of Singers.
