Musical King of Singers selected as Top 10 Music Headlines 2021

Presented by RTHK Radio 4, the Top 10 Music Headlines was open for voting from 1 to 11 January 2022 to let listeners around the world select news that had made a great influence on cultural and academic development in Hong Kong. The Grand Original Musical in Cantonese King of Singers produced by The Hong Kong Children's Choir, held at the Grand Theatre of Xiqu Centre from 19 to 21 November 2021, is selected as one of the Top 10 Headlines.

 

Top 10 Music Headlines aims to review the remarkable events in Hong Kong's music scene with the public and summarize the attention of music lovers and professionals in the past year. The public votes take 60% and the professional selections take 40% of the whole voting. HKCC had spent around three years preparing for the musical King of Singers, in which the Composer in Residence Dr Steve Ho is the librettist, composer and lyricist; the Music Director Ms Kathy Fok is the producer of the musical. Approximately two thousand HKCC members, as well as a number of world-renowned singers, had participated in five shows, which were all well received by the audiences and achieved great success. The musical is selected as one of the Top 10 Music Headlines with 55.3% of the total votes.
