Invited by Allegro Singers, The Hong Kong Children’s Choir sang as guest artist at their 54th Annual Concert held at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 15 July.

Allegro Singers was founded by the famous soprano Ms Fei Ming-yi Barbara, with missions of promoting choral music in Hong Kong, introducing Chinese music pieces and nurturing youth with talent in music. Ms Barbara Fei was also one of HKCC’s honorary advisers in music, making HKCC’s appearance this night more meaningful.

Fusing songs from various genres, the concert presented songs from musicals like The Sound of Music and West Side Story, adaptation works from the Tang dynasty poem The Yellow Crane Towerand the contemporary poem Goodbye Cambridge by Hsu Chih-mo. Members of Chamber Youth performed Laudate and There’s No Business Like Show Business and gave a joint performance with Allegro Singers on the Xinjiang folksong Alamuhan, drawing an perfect end to the show.
